Found in the sacred Gandaki River of Nepal, the Shaligram is revered as a natural symbol of Lord Vishnu. Formed over millions of years, it is worshipped for peace, prosperity, and divine protection.

The Sudarshan Chakra Shaligram is one of the rare and powerful forms of Shaligrams. It bears markings that resemble the Sudarshan Chakra, the divine weapon of Lord Vishnu. Keeping and worshipping it during rituals like Satyanarayan Puja, Griha Pravesh, or other holy ceremonies is considered highly auspicious.

Puja Vidhi

• Sit peacefully, facing the East or North-East, the most auspicious direction for worship.
• Gently wash the Shaligram with Ganga Jal poured from a conch shell. Then cleanse it with Panchnse once more with Ganga Jal.
• Keep a copper or steel glass filled with water and place some kusha grass in it for sprinkling during the puja.
• Now, place the Shaligram on pipal leaves arranged on a clean plate. Light the ghee lamp, incense sticks, and camphor, letting their fragrance fill the space.
• Apply a touch of sandalwood paste to the Shaligram and offer a few fresh tulsi leaves with devotion.
• Finally, offer milk, fruits, or sweets, followed by a small donation, which you may later give to someone in need, for completing the puja with gratitude and peace.
• Those who are unable to perform puja vidhi daily can either place a Tulsi mala over the Shaligram or keep the Shaligram in the Tulsi plant pot.

Storage For Your Shaligram

• Handle the Shaligram with clean hands and a calm mind.
• Store it in a wooden or brass box lined with a clean cloth.
• Keep it away from electronics, sunlight, and heat.
• Clean once a week using water and Tulsi leaves; wipe dry with a soft cloth.
• Place it on a dedicated altar or puja cabinet, not along with regular items.
• If you have more than one Shaligram, store each separately so it rests naturally and retains its energy.
